Who Is Lord Vishnu?
Lord Vishnu is known as the protector and preserver of the universe in Sanātan Dharma. Whenever evil increases and righteousness declines, Vishnu takes birth on Earth in different forms called avatars.
What Are Vishnu Avatars?
A Vishnu Avatar is a divine incarnation taken to:

- Restore balance in the world
The most accepted list of Vishnu’s incarnations is known as the Dashavatara, meaning ten avatars.

- 1. Matsya Avatar
- Vishnu appeared as a fish to save dlfe and sacred knowledge from a great flood.
- 2. Kurma Avatar
- Vishnu appeared as a tortoise to support Mount Mandara during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan).

- Vishnu appeared as a boar to rescue Earth from the demon Hiranyaksha.
