World Gujarati Day

World Gujarati Day 2021 is celebrated every year on 24 August. 24th August is the birthday of poet Narmad, so World Gujarati Language Day is celebrated in his honor. Gujarati is officially recognized in the Indian Constitution and is spoken by over 4.6 crore people. Most of these live in the Indian state of Gujarat. Gujarati literature is one of the richest literature in Indian languages. Like other languages of India, the Gujarati language is derived from the Sanskrit language. Gujarati speaking people reside in other states and abroad also.

हर साल 24 अगस्त को विश्व गुजराती भाषा दिवस मनाया जाता है। 24 अगस्त को कवि नर्मद का जन्मदिन है इसलिए उनके सम्मान में विश्व गुजराती भाषा दिवस मनाया जाता है। गुजराती को भारतीय संविधान में आधिकारिक रूप से मान्यता प्राप्त है और इसे 4.6 करोड़ से अधिक लोग बोलते हैं। इनमें से अधिकांश भारतीय राज्य गुजरात में रहते हैं। गुजराती साहित्य भारतीय भाषाओं के सबसे अधिक समृद्ध साहित्य में से है। भारत की दूसरी भाषाओं की तरह गुजराती भाषा का जन्म संस्कृत भाषा से हुआ हैं। दूसरे राज्य एवं विदेशों में भी गुजराती बोलने वाले लोग निवास करते हैं।
विश्वे गुजराति दिवसे योग्यता विश्वव्यापिनी।
विश्वायाम् च प्रसिद्धिश्च विश्वे गुजराति दिवसः॥
