उद्यमेन हि सिध्यन्ति, कार्याणि न मनोरथैः।
न हि सुप्तस्य सिंहस्य, प्रविशन्ति मुखे मृगाः॥
English Translation
Works are accomplished by working hard, not by wishing alone.
Because animals themselves do not enter the mouth of a sleeping lion
That is, he has to do his hunting diligently.
Hindi Translation
परिश्रम करने से कार्य सिद्ध होते हैं केवल इच्छा करने से नहीं।
क्योंकि सोते हुए शेर के मुख में पशु स्वयं प्रवेश नहीं करते
अर्थात् उसे अपना शिकार परिश्रमपूर्वक ही करना पड़ता है।
