दुर्जनेषु च सर्पेषु वरं सर्पो न दुर्जनः।
सर्पो दंशति कालेन दुर्जनस्तु पदे-पदे ॥
English Translation
The wicked and the snake, of these the snake is good, not the wicked. Snake bites only once, But the wicked keep on biting every step of the way.
Hindi Translation
दुष्ट और साँप, इन दोनों में साँप अच्छा है, न कि दुष्ट । साँप तो एक ही बार डसता है, किन्तु दुष्ट तो पग-पग पर डसता रहता है ।
